Role Summary

As a Volumetric Graphics Rendering Researcher with expertise in Metal, you will play a pivotal role in developing state-of-the-art rendering techniques and optimizations for our next-generation volumetric graphics solutions. You will explore and implement cutting-edge algorithms in 3D graphics rendering, focusing on performance and realism to enhance our core technologies. Your work will directly contribute to groundbreaking products and experiences in immersive media.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize advanced volumetric graphics rendering algorithms using Metal.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate rendering solutions into our product ecosystem, ensuring compatibility and performance across different devices and platforms.
  • Conduct research on the latest trends and advancements in 3D graphics rendering, focusing on volumetric imaging, to continuously improve our rendering capabilities.
  • Prototype and evaluate new rendering techniques, assessing their feasibility for integration into our products.
  • Document and publish findings and advancements in internal reports and potentially at conferences or in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Mentor junior researchers and developers, sharing knowledge and expertise in volumetric graphics rendering and Metal programming.


  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a focus on graphics rendering or computational geometry.
  • Strong background in 3D graphics rendering, with specific experience in volumetric rendering techniques.
  • Proficient in Metal API and shader programming, with a deep understanding of GPU architecture and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with C/C++ and shader languages (e.g., GLSL, HLSL).
  • Familiarity with AR, VR, XR technologies and their unique rendering challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and translate complex concepts into tangible solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in the digital graphics space.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
